I wanted to like this more than I did; I think maybe it would have been less of a slog if he’d mixed up the endless leafing through old documents and the part where he finally reveals the exciting stories from his childhood. There’s no reason he couldn’t have like, alternated chapters or something.

That and I wish he’d come up with a better “big secret” than “some hot chick he couldn’t have.” But isn’t that always the secret, really?
